About the Artist
About
British born, I studied for my BA in Fine Art at Buckinghamshire New University’s, graduating in 2015.
I travelled extensively the United States of America (fourteen years), visiting various places of interest, favouring many of the National Parks of America. In absolute wonderment!
Settling back in the UK in 2003.
My work has taken on a reflective emotional response to life, looking for the beauty in all circumstances, since I find art therapeutic, (having reasons [as many of us do] to look for the silver lining in life). I rely on my memory of a view, landscape, environment or emotion, my memory acting as an editing tool to reveal heightened perceptions of shapes, patterns and colour. My work is most often semi-abstract, using resin, collage and acrylics to build and amplify the paintings, giving them a sculptural appearance that requires the viewer to study the finer details.
I paint every single day, to alleviate the mountain of images that are mentally catalogued, this quote sums up my reason my paint brush is the tool I live by "If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint." Edward Hopper.
Thank you for stopping by to view my work, any questions please feel free to email KWeatherbee05@AOL.com put karenweatherbee.com in the subject line for my attention.
