My work is a personal response to the beauty I experience in nature. I rely on my memory of a view, landscape or environment to retain the key visual stimuli that created the original response. In this way my memory acts as an editing tool: revealing the elements of shape, pattern and colour that generate my hieghtened perception of the experience. I then deconstruct and isolate these elements, rearranging them conceptually to amplify the effect, thereby creating a super-real, sometimes psychedelic image.

Throughout this process the concept of beauty remains central to my practice and is used to celebrate the wonder I experience in creation.
